Welcome to the WAY OF THE SHAMAN 2026-27
Welcome
A very warm welcome to the Way of the Shaman, Medicine Wheel & Healing Tools shamanic practitioner training with Spirit of the Inca for 2026-27.
Please take some time to read through this page (and we recommend bookmarking it in your browser): it has all the course info, payment details, and lets you know what to bring when we meet at Ammerdown. Later in the year, it will include the Zoom info for our practice sessions, and any additional information you might need for each specific class.
If you have any additional questions, or if anything is unclear, please feel free to get in touch with me or Liz!
One of the foundations of this training is learning the skills and practices that bring us into ‘Ayni‘ or balance, harmony and right relationship, and we bring that quality to every aspect of the training – including the practical elements set out here. This way, we set up a great foundation for the year, and that in turn frees us up to really dive into this wonderful journey together.

Some context…
In each module, you’ll discover teachings, tools and techniques. Each one builds on all that came before it, so by the end of the training you will have completed a revolutionary and an evolutionary journey. Please note: if this is the first time you are making a journey around the Medicine Wheel, to complete your training you must complete all four modules in order in a single year. It is not possible to miss a module, or to pick up where you left off another time. It may be possible to attend a module in Romania if you really cannot make a UK date, however this must be agreed before you begin your training. It is not something we recommend doing if this is your first time around the Wheel, where being part of the group who know you is a fundamental element of the journey.
Our daily schedule
To give you a picture of our days together… we begin each day at 7.30am outside for nature connection.
We gather for our morning meditations at 8am (or vice versa during the darker times of the year).
Breakfast is at 8.30am.
Class begins at 9.15am.
We generally have a tea/coffee break at around 11am.
Lunch is at 1pm.
We have a short tea/coffee break at around 4pm (though not on the last day of class.)
Dinner is at 6.30pm.
At 7.30pm we meet for fire ceremony, or to continue our work.

Our venue: Ammerdown
The four modules take place at the Ammerdown Retreat Centre, which is set in beautiful gardens and woodlands. It has been the home of this training for many years, and we are well cared for there.
For your travels, the address for your Satnav is: Ammerdown Park, Radstock, Somerset BA3 5SW. There is plenty of free parking. The closest airport is Bristol (45 minutes away by car/taxi). The nearest train station is Bath (then a taxi journey of around 20 minutes). For more travel advice, taxi company contact details and journey tips, visit Ammerdown’s website... See Ammerdown on a map here.
If you would like to stay an extra night before class, the 2026 rate for Supper, Bed & Breakfast pppn is £98. (The rate for 2027 will be announced in September 2026.) Booking links are below.
Three home-cooked meals a day are provided at Ammerdown, plus tea and coffee, and sometimes cakes or biscuits at break times. You are welcome to bring with you specialist teas, snacks and other items that you need to be comfortable, and any additional items you might need outside of these times. (Though there is no access to a fridge.)
When you pay your accommodation fee to Ammerdown using the links farther down the page, you have the opportunity to confirm the dietary option you follow; if you pay by phone, please make sure that you tell them. If you have complex dietary requirements, we need to give the catering team (and potentially the whole group) as much notice as possible, and this may incur an additional charge to you.
Please also let us and Ammerdown know if you have any mobility issues, so that you can be allocated a room on the ground floor or near the lift.
What to bring with you
If you are joining the training for the first time, for each module you will need to bring with you THREE STONES that you would like to have as your medicine stones (for the West class, you’ll need one black stone, one red stone and one yellow stone). They don’t have to be ‘precious’ or ‘gem’ stones, just of a size that fits in the palm of your hand and that you can handle easily, not too big and not too tiny. Whatever calls to you to be part of your medicine.
You’ll need a CLOTH to wrap your stones (only for the South class, as you’ll use the same cloth for all the modules). We have lots of Peruvian cloths to sell from the lineage of Q’ero shaman that we work with. But a cloth that has some meaning to you personally is just as important and is still a sacred cloth.
Please bring a notebook and pens for journalling, a pendulum, a rattle you have one (which we recommend). If you want to buy something, we have a recommended supplier, and you’ll find a link below. If you are a returning student and already have a Mesa, you’ll need that of course!
We recommend bringing clothing and footwear for the relevant season – some of our work is outside, whatever the weather. For our work inside, we recommend wearing clothing that is comfortable and that you can move around in easily. And we have an evening of ceremony during each module, so sometimes people bring something a bit more ‘soulful’ (this is entirely optional). Most importantly, bring yourself.
There are a few things that we request that you please don’t bring: we are stepping into a sensitive environment and over many years have found that these elements in particular will feel more impactful: we leave our mobile phones and all electronic devices in our rooms while we are in class. Avoid alcohol; energy work and alcohol do not mix. Smoking and vaping are not allowed on the premises. And please don’t use cosmetic perfumes and aftershaves.
Our recommended supplier: SACRED ESSENCETuition fees
From this year, there are two payment options: either one single payment in full or a payment plan divided over the course of the year.

There is also a Mentorship Programme to support your journey. It is run by the Medicine Wheel teaching team members. It’s really important to us that your journey around the Medicine Wheel is supported by an Elder, all of whom have been involved in this training for many years. It really makes a difference. For this year’s class, the team is Alex Greaves, Wendy Sullivan, Roz Gibbs, Maria Anderson, and Barbara Bacon, and there are additional costs for their expertise and time.
In addition, we stay connected throughout the year via our WhatsApp group, there is an online revision evening after each module, and there are many opportunities to practice together. We’ll tell you about the opportunities as they arise.
Find out more about MENTORSHIPJoin the village on Circle
You are warmly invited to enter the Spirit of the Inca VILLAGE on Circle app — a sacred space to connect beyond the noise of social media. Subscription is required for all students attending the training, and opens the doorway to monthly live gatherings and meditations, shared wisdom through weekly videos, and a wealth of resources to support your training and inner journey. Within the Village, you will find multiple ways to connect, including a dedicated chat space and a place to meet and exchange with students who have already completed the Medicine Wheel. Find your tribe here, sit around the fire with us, enter the shaman’s cave, be inspired, and discover new ways of seeing our world.
There are two subscription rates to choose from: £14.99/month (first month offered by Spirit of the Inca) or £165/yearly subscription (one month free) plus 30-day free trial). You will receive a link to register when the training starts.

Accommodation fees for each module
The cost of your full-board accommodation is £748.80 inc VAT per module. You make this payment direct to the Ammerdown Retreat Centre via the payment links below. (This amount applies to the South, West and North classes; the cost for the East class will be confirmed by Ammerdown in September 2026 when the venue sets its 2027 prices.)
If you would like to arrive early and stay at Ammerdown the night before class begins, subject to availability (and we recommend booking as early as you can), the cost of Supper, Bed and Breakfast (SB&B) is £98 for the South, West and North classes.
SB&B – Thursday 16 April (£98) SOUTH module accommodation (due by 6 March) SB&B – Thursday 16 July (£98) WEST module accommodation (due by 5 June) SB&B – Thursday 15 October (£98) NORTH module accommodation (due by 4 September)
Spirit of the Inca reserves your room until the payment deadline dates above. When you make your accommodation payment before the dates specified, your room booking then is secured. After these dates Ammerdown releases any unpaid rooms from our booking (otherwise Spirit of the Inca would be liable for the cost). Taking your place on this training depends on staying at Ammerdown; it is not possible to do this training and stay elsewhere.
The small print
Once made, ALL payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Please add payment dates and deadlines to your calendar with a reminder alert.
The current version of this page supersedes any previous versions, including costs, dates, & special offers.
Both Spirit of the Inca and Ammerdown highly recommend ensuring that you have insurance in case of cancellations (in case of illness for example) or other disruptions; it is possible that travel insurance would cover this, but we highly recommend that you check.
By signing up to this training, you consent to these terms.
Nature Connection
The principles and practices that connect us with the natural world – and also to ourselves and with others – are a core element of the training.
We begin every day outside in Ammerdown’s beautiful grounds, stepping into a natural world journey…

What our students say
“The medicine is a mirror, reflecting my purpose and truth. The shamanic path teaches me to celebrate my flaws and trust my instincts. For the first time in my life, I have permission to dream, play, and use my voice for the highest good. At Spirit of the Inca, I have found integrity, wonder and friendship.”
